No appraisers? No problem we just wont require appraisals?

The above link is to a post that I posted in 2009, this was when new rules came out and appraisers were upset that they had to pay to get work that was previously ordered directly to the appraiser. I can understand building your business on good work over years and getting orders without a third party taking a cut and that you are now getting orders with those that are brand new and may not know as much.

I said back then I didnt see this going well and it hasn't. Appraisers are leaving the industry. Keep in mind there are 2 million Realtors in the U.S.

In additon to less money for appraisers with the AMC's taking a cut the have demanded quicker turn times in regulation standards VA appraisers in Florida are given 5 days turn time for appraisals per the VA.Gov website.

The appraisal institute is trying to fight for a even playing field.Where appraisals are not required by federal law, many states allow valuation services to be provided by individuals who may not be held to the same standard as appraisers.

The appraisal institute is trying to fight the waivers going on right now too that not only for refinance but for initial purchases.
